RE/MAX Alliance Agent Kim Pitaniello Appears on ABC’s Nightline Prime

Kim Pitaniello, a RE/MAX Alliance agent in Greenwood Village recently appeared on ABC’s Nightline Prime “I Want That House.” The feature is centered around the current upswing in the residential real estate market, which as a result, has created situations where buyers are finding themselves in bidding wars.

“I was excited to be a part of a feature that really sheds light on where we are currently at within the residential real estate market and how in many cases buyers are going head to head with other buyers in bidding wars,” said Kim Pitaniello.

It has been the hottest real estate market in years with home prices going up so quickly. Also featured in the video is real estate guru and Shark Tank Investor Barbara Corcoran who says “there is so much demand, not enough inventory, the  builders can’t catch up fast enough … we just don’t have enough houses to go around.”

In the video, Pitaniello is shown working with buyers in the Highlands Ranch area who are new parents looking for their first home to raise a family. As they explore multiple listings and attempt to make numerous offers, they are realizing how fast homes are going under contract and becoming unavailable. Of the five homes visited by Kim’s buyers, four of them had offers within 48 hours and went under contract.

“In some cases, homes aren’t even on the market for less than 24 hours before receiving offers that exceed the asking price,” said Kim. “With so little inventory and an abundance of buyers, the ball rests in the seller’s court and as a result, requires buyers to act fast and with strong offers.

As shown on ABC’s Nightline Prime feature, there are many cases where buyers are attaching personal notes, videos and pictures to their offer letters in hopes of persuading the sellers to choose their offer.

Kim has been in the Denver and surrounding areas over the last 10 years, she has been one of the top RE/MAX agents in the world. Kim specializes in the Denver metro area, focusing mostly in the southern part including Greenwood Village, Highlands Ranch, Parker and Castle Rock.

“We were very pleased to see Kim be a apart of ABC’s feature,” said Chad Ochsner, RE/MAX Alliance president. “Kim has really focused and worked hard on adapting from the buyer’s market to a seller’s market, while still servicing her clients with speed and results.”

RE/MAX Alliance Ranks In the Top 25 of Largest Residential Brokerage Firms in the Nation

According to a recent research report produced by REAL Trends, the 500 largest residential real estate brokerage firms in the nation controlled just over 2 million residential sales transactions in 2013.  The transactions represent close to 32.6 percent of all new and resale transactions completed by brokers during the year, yet the REAL Trends 500 represented less than three-fifths of one percent of all brokerage firms. The 500 ranked brokers closed 2,577,483 home transactions with a value of over $767 billion during 2013 up from $624 billion in calendar year 2012.

Of the top 500 brokerage firms ranked, RE/MAX Alliance ranked 24th in residential sales transactions in 2013 with 12,570. RE/MAX Alliance also ranked 26th in total volume in 2013 with $3,676,333,185.

The 2014 REAL Trends 500 is a compilation of a nationwide study of leading residential real estate companies conducted by REAL Trends, the trusted source for useful and timely information.  This year's survey represents the most comprehensive collection of data assembled on the leaders of the residential brokerage industry.  Numbers are documented by outside accounting firms.

“The recovery in housing sales was reflected in the results from the REAL Trends 500,” says REAL Trends editor Steve Murray.  “There were a record number of firms that closed more than $1 billion in sales and over 1,000 units.  Unit sales were up 13.0 percent overall and total sales volume was up 23.0 percent.  There were over 1,450 firms that qualified for either the REAL Trends 500 or the Up and Comer list.  Many of the firms that had increased unit sales accomplished this through organic growth while merger activity remained slower than in years past. We expect acquisition activity to pick up, however, in the years to come as the market consolidates.”

“As an organization, we are very pleased to have ranked so high in the transactions and volume categories,” said Chad Ochsner, RE/MAX Alliance president. “These rankings are a testament to the hard work and perseverance of all our agents and the dedication of our staff throughout our organization. We are honored to be ranked in the top 500 year after year.”

Founders of RE/MAX, Dave and Gail Liniger, recently donated $2 million to establish the Liniger Honor, Service, and Commitment Scholarship. This scholarship program is especially dear to Dave Liniger as he served in Vietnam. After his service in Vietnam, Dave and his wife revolutionized the real estate industry when they founded RE/MAX in Denver in 1973.

The scholarship program was established to assist university students currently enrolled in full-or part-time undergraduate and graduate programs who have participated in combat operations and have been awarded a campaign medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, a service combat medal, or Purple Heart.

“The Liniger Honor Service, and Commitment Scholarship will immediately and personally impact 200 of CSU’s courageous and outstanding student-veterans,” said Brett Anderson, vice president for University Advancement. “We could not be more grateful to Gail and Dave Liniger for their contribution to honoring this important segment of our campus community.”

“We are so fortunate to work within an organization that puts so much time and effort into recognizing and fulfilling the needs of individuals that serve our country,” said Gene Vaughan, Broker/Co-owner of RE/MAX Alliance in Fort Collins. “To see students at our local college be recognized for their service and support of our Country by the Linigers, it is truly an honor to be able to say we are apart of the RE/MAX family.”

RE/MAX Alliance in Westminster recently developed and participated in a neighborhood food drive. 100% of the goods donated by the food drive went to the organization Growing Home, whose mission is to house the homeless, feed families and help children succeed.

“I have to give all of the credit for the idea to do the neighborhood food drive to our RE/MAX Alliance office staff and our office manager Heidi Greer,” said Merry Whyman, RE/MAX Alliance agent and the food drive organizer. “It was decided that as an office we would like to create an initiative that would help improve our community.”

Attached to the bags was a note explaining the initiative and how the homeowners could get involved. Homeowners filled the bags and left them on their porches for a designated pick-up time.

“What generous neighbors we have!” said Whyman. “The groceries filled my entire car, they were in the trunk, back seat, front seat … everywhere! And what great quality food! It was such a wonderful feeling to be able to deliver that much food to the folks at Growing Home. We are so proud of our neighborhood, Cambridge Farm,  along with a handful of agents at our office for pulling together to make this happen!”

RE/MAX Alliance Honored to Take Part in the Jessica Ridgeway Memorial Park Dedication!

_DSC0694.jpg

On Saturday, October 5, 2013, over 600 people from the city of Westminster, neighboring cities, community members, volunteers, Jessica’s classmates and Jessica’s family were all in attendance for the Jessica Ridgeway Park dedication.

Located in Westminster, CO, the park was completely designed to honor the memory and life of a beautiful little girl that was taken too soon. Draped in the colors purple and green (Jessica’s favorite colors), the park is equipped with swings, a teeter-totter, slides, and a zip-line that runs through the center of the park. There is also an area that has a handful of Jessica’s favorite jokes etched into the concrete. “Knock Knock. Who’s there? Heart. Heart who? I love you!”

At Saturday’s ceremony Westminster Police Chief Lee Birk, Westminster Mayor Nancy McNally, and Jessica’s grandmother, Christine, addressed the crowd. There was also a presentation of a butterfly plaque that was donated to the Ridgeway family by the Butterfly Pavilion. Following the ceremony, 10 purple balloons to honor Jessica’s life were let go into the bright blue sky.

“It was so heart-warming to see so many children playing in the park.  Laughter filled the air while the purpose of the day was very tearful,” said Heidi Greer, Director of Business Development at RE/MAX Alliance. “I will always remember the 10 purple balloons that seemed to dance over the park when they were released, taking time to frolic around the park before rising into the sky toward heaven.”

“My kids were excited to go the park & celebrate the life of Jessica.  It made me realize how important every minute I spend with my children is and to not take it for granted,” said Amber Panck, RE/MAX Alliance agent. “We had so much fun at the park and my kids can’t wait to go back!”

"Marilyn and I are touched by the community's outpouring of love and support for Jessica," said Ed Getsch, RE/MAX Alliance agent. "Our healing as a Westminster resident has begun with the dedication of this "one of kind, park." Every part of the day was special."

RE/MAX Alliance agents and staff members especially from the Arvada and Westminster offices were dearly touched by this tragic event and have been dedicated to making the Jessica Ridgeway park and the overall dedication a great success. RE/MAX Alliance officers, agents, staff and affiliates raised $25,000 for the support and construction of the park.

"I am so proud of RE/MAX Alliance's involvement and contributions to make this beautiful memorial park a reality," said Chad Ochsner, Broker/Co-owner of RE/MAX Alliance. "The healing that will come to our community from this tribute to Jessica will last for generations."

RE/MAX Alliance Donates $25,000 to the Jessica Ridgeway Memorial Park!

On Monday, April 22, 2013, RE/MAX Alliance was honored to provide a check donated in the name of Jessica Ridgeway to the Jessica Ridgeway Memorial Park. RE/MAX Alliance officers, agents, staff and affiliates raised $25,000 for the support and construction of the park located in Westminster, CO dedicated to the memory of Jessica Ridgeway. The donation was presented to the City of Westminster by Chad Ochsner, RE/MAX Alliance president.

The proceeding took place at the RE/MAX Alliance office in Westminster and was attended by Nancy McNally, City of Westminster Mayor; City Council members Bob Briggs, Herb Atchison, and Mary Lindsey; Legacy Foundation Board of Directors Bill Walenczak and Ed Getsch, along with Co-Executive Directors Laura Magnetti and Karen Layfield; Don Tripp, Director of Parks, Recreation and Libraries for the City of Westminster; and Joe Reid, Public Information Officer. A number of RE/MAX Alliance agents were also in attendance.

“As an organization we are dedicated to positively enhancing people’s lives, not only did we help over 10,000 families buy and sell homes in 2012, but our caring agents continue to find ways to give back to our communities,” said Ochsner.

Two of the RE/MAX Alliance flagship offices are located in Arvada and Westminster, communities that were greatly impacted by this tragedy.

“Raising funds for this spectacular park has been an honor and something many of our agents have passionately contributed to as a part of their own personal healing,” said Ochsner. “Being so involved in our communities is a privilege and something dear to our hearts. It's who we are as a company and a true testament to the caring individuals that help so many families year after year.”

RE/MAX Alliance agents throughout the company felt the need to step up and give back. Many agents donated their own money directly to the Memorial Park and others joined together to put on their baking hats and have bake sales in the individual offices. “It was absolutely amazing seeing what our agents were capable of putting together,” Ochsner said. “I remember seeing a plate of brownies go for $200! It was heart warming to see our agents pour their time, energy, and finances into this cause.”

Jessica Ridgeway Memorial Park, formerly Chelsea Park, is currently under renovation and is scheduled to be reopened to the public in late fall of 2013. Amenities at the park will include a swing-set made to look like a purple ribbon, raised garden beds adorned with knock-knock jokes engraved on large stones, and a zip line track ride. These are all things inspired by Jessica, her passions and exuberance for life.

Donations for the Memorial Park are still being accepted at www.westminsterlegacyfoundation.org.
